Greg T. Greenwood, Ph.D., M.B.A. has over 25 years of experience in health care. As a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive business experience and training, he brings a unique and comprehensive perspective to all activities in his roles with Human Capital Specialists (HCS).

Prior to joining HCS, Dr. Greenwood was Executive Director – Central Region with WellPoint, Inc., the largest publicly traded health benefits company in the United States. Dr. Greenwood had primary responsibility for the integration of behavioral health with physical health for the Central Region of WellPoint, Inc., which included Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin, as well as UniCare nationwide.

Immediately prior to joining WellPoint, Dr. Greenwood was President - Health Plan Division for ValueOptions, one of the nation’s largest managed behavioral health care companies. As President of the Health Plan Division, Dr. Greenwood was responsible for overseeing all health plan business and operations throughout the country.

Trained as a clinical psychologist, he received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University. He then accepted a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine. During his tenure at Indiana University, he worked extensively with clinical psychology interns and psychiatry residents, supervising their training experiences.

In 1986, Dr. Greenwood joined American Biodyne, Inc. (which became Magellan Health Services), a pioneer in managed behavioral health care, where he remained for six years. During that time, he held various positions within the company, including Vice President and Northern Regional General Manager, which he held immediately prior to joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas in 1992.

At Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas he developed a managed behavioral health care division/subsidiary, INROADS® Behavioral Health Services, which received national recognition as the 1998 Eli Lilly and Company – National Managed Health Care Congress Managed Behavioral Healthcare Leadership Award recipient for the private sector. INROADS was acquired by Magellan Health Services in February 1998. Dr. Greenwood was made President - Dallas Regional Service Center for Magellan Behavioral Health as well as continuing in his role as Chief Executive Officer of INROADS® Behavioral Health Services of Texas, L.P. in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Greenwood joined ValueOptions in March 2000 as Executive Vice President - Operations.

Dr. Greenwood has been a consultant to the National Advisory Mental Health Council of the National Institute of Mental Health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in issuing Parity in Financing Mental Health Services: Managed Care Effects on Cost, Access & Quality. Additionally, he serves on the Board of the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.

Dr. Greenwood received his B.A. at DePauw University in 1978, his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Bowling Green State University (Ohio) in 1984 and his M.B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1995. He entered the Chase College of Law (Northern Kentucky University) part-time JD law program in 2005, and has started a not-for-profit company (April 2008, to become operational late 2009) – Home For The Holidays – whose mission is to provide financial assistance to individuals without the necessary resources to travel and be with their loved ones during special times, including our service men and women on leave while serving overseas.
