Penrose-St. Francis Health Services
Margaret joined Penrose-St. Francis Health Services as the President & CEO in November 2008. She oversees the daily operations of the 522-bed system, which includes PenroseHospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis Health Center, PenroseMountainUrgentCareCenter, Penrose Community Urgent Care, Penrose Urgent Care at Cripple Creekand the Penrose-St.FrancisHealthLearningCenter. In July 2009, Margaret was also named the South State Hospital Group president for Centura Health, overseeing operations at all three Centura hospitals in Southern Colorado: Penrose-St. Francis in Colorado Springs; St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo; and St. ThomasMoreHospitalin CanonCity. Additionally, she serves as chair of Centura Health’s Trauma Council, leading the first integrated health care network nationally to establish a trauma system linked to its own facilities and services with 20 facilities and a variety of essential services. She also serves as chair of Centura Health’s Oncology Council.
From 2005-2008, Margaret was the CEO of Sutter Health Partners and Vice President of New Product Development for Sutter Health in Sacramento, Calif.
Prior to that, she was CEO of Marin Community Health for five years, which included Sutter Health affiliates MarinGeneralHospitaland NovatoCommunityHospital. She has also served as CEO of the YampaValleyMedicalCenterin Steamboat Springs, Colo., and SwedishMedicalCenterin Englewood, Colo. In addition, she has been the Vice President for EMSand Trauma for the HealthONE Corporation. She was named one of the Colorado SpringsBusiness Journal’s“Women of Influence” in 2009, and one of the Bay Area’s 100 Most Influential Women in Business by the San Francisco Business Times in 2003 and 2004. Margaret is also a certified fitness instructor with the American Council on Exercise.
