Michael Donovan, PhD, is currently responsible for developing and leading employee wellness and health promotion activities at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He received his doctorate in Physiology from the University of California-Davis and was awarded a Presidential Management Fellowship by the NIH. Michael has been working in the fitness and health field for over a decade as a personal fitness trainer and physiologist. Michael’s expertise is motivating intrinsic behavioral change and understanding the physiological underpinnings of behaviors, and he has presented his work at national and international scientific conferences . During his time at NIH, he has worked with a variety of Instititues and recently helped to create a week-long health promotion event for the employees at NIH. Michael is also a health coach, and an avid marathoner and triathlete.
